Bollywood superstar couple buy new team in IPL

New Delhi: Bollywood superstar couple Ranveen Singh and Deepika Padukone have reportedly joined the team as the process of adding two new teams to the IPL begins. As part of the bidding process, they are known to have received documents from the BCCI to buy the team. Companies that want a team need sales of at least Rs 3,000 crore. The BCCI also requires that individuals have assets valued at Rs 2,500 billion.

Preity Zinta and Shah Rukh Khan are currently co-owners of IPL teams. There are also kabaddi and soccer teams in India supported by Bollywood actors. Ranveer, his wife and actress Deepika are among them. Deepika is an actress from a sports family. She is the daughter of Prakash Padukone, one of the greatest badminton players of all time in India. Ranveer Singh is the brand ambassador for the NBA basketball team. Ranveer is also associated with the EPL team.

The BCCI will announce which teams will be selected later this month. The announcement is expected after the India-Pakistan game. Leading companies and celebrities have already signed up for the IPL team. The US-based Glacier family, owners of the English Premier League team Manchester United, have also expressed an interest in the IPL team. In addition, Adani Group, Torrent Pharma, Aurabindo Pharma, RP Sanjeev Goenka Group, Hindustan Times Media, Jindal Steel (Naveen Jindal) and Screwvala are in the running for the new team. From the coming season ten teams will be represented in the IPL.
