Mumbai: The sale of properties in coastal Alibaug is on the rise due to the Corona pandemic and the ensuing lockdown. Most of the people of Mumbai are interested in buying property in Alibaug. Alibaug is a great place to spend time during the holidays away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A huge deal has happened recently in Alibaug. According to the information received, a house built on the coast in Alibaug’s housing village has been sold for Rs 80 crore.

This house was owned by a Parsi merchant family and now it has been bought by Srikantadevi Damani. It may be mentioned that Srikantadevi is the wife of Radhakishan Damani. Radhakishan Damani is a stock market investor and founder of supermarket chain D-Mart. It is worth noting that this plot is about six kilometers away from Mandwa Jetty. In April, Radhakishan Damani and his brother Gopikishan Damani bought a bungalow worth Rs 1,001 crore on Narayan Dabholkar Road in South Mumbai.

Our colleague Times of India tried to get in touch with the Atash family to get more information in this matter, but could not get through. Documents show the deal took place on Thursday. According to local sources, the house was built around 1980 and is built in a mythological style. There are many fruit trees around the house. The Damani family has invested heavily in Alibaug. In 2015, Radhakishan Damani bought the five-star Radisson Blu Resort & Spa for Rs 135 crore. Locals say that there is also a farmhouse of Damani family in Jirad village of Alibaug which is built on 20 acres of land.

Two months ago, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh also bought a house worth Rs 22 crore in Alibaug. He bought this house from Rajesh Jaggi of Everstone Group. According to sources in Alibaug, when the lockdown started in early 2020, around 150 families from Mumbai shifted to their weekend homes. Several pictures of the family walking in the large garden, running or swimming on the beach were seen on social media during the lockdown. Seeing this, other people would also like to adopt such a lifestyle. The demand for this specialty has increased significantly as a result of recent corporate scandals.

In the last one year, land prices in Alibaug have gone up by 50 per cent. Before the lockdown the cost per acre in the housing village was Rs 2 crore, which has now increased to Rs 3 crore. According to a real estate broker, the demand for plots at a distance of 20-30 minutes from the jetty is high. There is also a luxurious farmhouse of Shahrukh Khan in Alibaug. The property is surrounded by coconuts. Apart from this, there are also houses of Ratan Tata, Shapoor Mistry, Noel Tata, Nikhil and Alina Meswani, Godrej family etc.
