“India is losing great patriots”; CDS mourns Bipin Rawat’s death

Bipin Rawat, India’s first defense chief, was killed in a helicopter crash on Wednesday. The country mourns a brave warrior not only in India but all over the world. Heads of state and military, including Pakistan, Russia, Israel, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Australia, Bhutan, France and the Maldives, have expressed condolences on the death of General Bipin Rawat.

General Bipin Rawat’s helicopter crashes

Group captain Varun Singh was critically injured in the accident and is being treated in a military hospital in Wellington, Tamil Nadu. Captain Varun Singh was the only survivor of the 14 passengers on board the crashed helicopter.

The fog obscured the view. Hence, the possibility of an Air Force helicopter crash is voiced at first sight. The Air Force ordered an “investigative tribunal” to investigate the crash.
