- Virat Kohli cut a cake in the dressing room on Friday to celebrate his 33rd birthday
- Indian team and support staff were present at that time, Kohli fed cake to first mentor Dhoni
- India beat Scotland to keep T20 World Cup semi-final hopes alive
Indian players and support staff came together to celebrate Kohli’s birthday after the victory over Scotland. The cake was cut in the dressing room. Mentor Mahendra Singh Dhoni made all the arrangements leading up to Kohli’s birthday while cutting the cake.
However, while cutting the cake, Kohli made a small mistake. Everyone present laughed including Kohli, who reminded Dhoni. Actually Kohli forgot to blow the candles on the cake and cut the cake directly. When Dhoni reminded him to light the candle, Kohli and everyone present there laughed out loud.
Kohli later extinguished the candle and fed Dhoni the first piece of cake. The Board of Control for Cricket in India uploaded the video on its Twitter page. In which it seems that Dhoni is asking Kohli to light a candle.
Friday was a day of double happiness for Kohli. On one hand it was his birthday and on the other hand India won against Scotland. In the match played in Dubai, India bundled out Scotland for 85 runs in 17.4 overs and later won the match by hitting the target in 39 balls.
Due to which the run rate of India has increased significantly. India currently (+1.619) have the second best run rate in Group-2 after Pakistan. Pakistan has reached the semi-finals after winning four consecutive matches. However, whether India reaches the semi-finals will depend on the outcome of the Ramnari match between New Zealand and Afghanistan. If New Zealand wins, India will be out of the tournament.
