Warner handed over to Sri Lanka; Australia wins by spinner

Dubai: Australia won their second game of the T20 World Cup against Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka scored 154 for 6 in 20 overs while Australia hit the target in 17 overs. Australia won with seven wickets. Australia’s winners are spinner Adam Sampa and opener David Warner.

Australia won the litter and was selected. Sri Lanka could not benefit from a good start. Kushal Perera (35) and Charith Asalanka (35) led the team, although they lost Nissanka in the opening. Sri Lanka then collapsed for the second wicket. Bhanuka Rajapaksa (33) crossed the team of 150 in total. Adam Sampa took 2 wickets for 12 runs in 4 overs. Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins each took two wickets.

The start gave Australia an easy start. After a combination of David Warner (65) and Aaron Finch (37), Steve Smith (28) and Marcus Stones (16) led the team to victory. Sri Lanka would have struggled if it hadn’t been for Warner’s easy-to-catch wicketkeeper Kushal Perera. Vanidu Hasaranga took two wickets for Sri Lanka. Australia’s next game is against England on Saturday. Sri Lanka also meets South Africa.
